TGIF, Week 10 & 11
March 15, 2019
TGIF
This is a two for one week. Last week while I answered my TGIF questions, I never posted here. It’s all good.
As a reminder, here are the questions I’m responding to every week:
❶ What am I TRUSTING?
❷ For whom or what am I GRATEFUL?
❸ What is INSPIRING me?
❹ How am I practicing FAITH?
Here’s TGIF, Week 10 & 11…
Trust
❶ What am I trusting?
I’m still trusting Jesus. I’m also trusting time and opportunities to come together to reflect, discuss, and be in community together.
I continue to trust Jesus to help us remember who we are and whose we are. That’s where I start and end all that comes my way. If we don’t begin there, it’s difficult to have a conversation without winners and losers in the life of the church.
Gratitude
❷ For whom or what am I grateful?
I’m grateful for colleagues. Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been reminded this is a season to be in conversation and community with one another. Now, if you’re saying, what season isn’t? You are correct. Sometimes, however, we need to name the reality around us. Whatever we might call this season, it’s becoming clear to me that it is time to remember community, Christ, and caring for self and others.
Inspiration
❸ What is INSPIRING me?
Other Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches. About every six weeks, I have an opportunity to connect with another Gallup Certified Strengths Coach who serves the faith community (and much more). I continue to celebrate the ways God uses all of us to be and become our best self.
Faith
❹ How am I practicing FAITH?
For the past two weeks, I’ve been diving deep into the book of Galatians. Paul is calling people to task and it’s exactly what is needed in this season. As he’s calling people to be and become a faithful community of Jesus followers – Jews and Gentiles together – there are many reminders about our how far we’ve gotten off track as Jesus followers.
I’d title the first two chapters: Remember the gospel of Jesus Christ and Our Identity in Christ, respectively. More to come on all this soon. We’ll be sharing on LeaderCast and inviting you into studying and exploring the scriptures.
