Psalm 40

Prayer for the Day:

Lord Jesus,

We come asking the same question as your disciples, “teach us how to pray.”

We desire to be your people.  We desire to follow your ways.

Teach us, Lord, how to pray.

By your example of love, show us how to love.

By your humility, show us how to be people of One heart.

By your mercy, forgive us, when we fail to honor you.

We celebrate your goodness.  We stand in awe of your grace.

Move us to the intersection of faith and your mission in our neighborhood.

Be our teacher, so we may learn your ways.

Be our guide, so we may understand your ways.

Be our hope, so we may be changed by your ways.

Be for us, so we may be for You, Lord Jesus.  Amen.
