Achiever®

People exceptionally talented in the Achiever theme work hard and possess a great deal of stamina. They take immense satisfaction in being busy and productive.

How can I build H.O.P.E.?

Hospitality

  • Identify your goals. You’ll likely have clear objectives and ideas about how to spend time on matters of faith. How can you welcome new people into the faith and/or your faith community?
  • Set a goal of meeting three new people in a month. Learn their name and faith story.
  • You likely enjoy building relationships when working with others side by side. You can use this as a catalyst to welcome new people.

Offer Christ

  • Be a part of celebrating baptisms of new believers. You may see baptism and faith commitments as a personal accomplishment as well as an accomplishment for the local church.
  • Accept the challenge of next level commitments. Explore ideas for goals to increase your faith commitment, perhaps through giving of your time, talents, and/or finances.
  • Partner your strong Achiever with someone strong in Deliberative. Together, think about what you want to accomplish as people of faith.

Practice

  • Create or download a scripture reading plan. You might like a checklist of scriptures to read.
  • Challenge yourself to read through portions of Scripture in a certain time period. e.g., 30 Days with Matthew.  Use this to fuel a daily sense of accomplishment
  • Recognize if the church’s plan is not aligned with my goals, I will not engage.
  • Celebrate small achievements. Faith formation is never “done.” Recognize that “going on to perfection” does not nullify your desire for achievement.
  • Write down prayer requests and ask to be on a prayer chain.
  • Utilize goals as a way to mark progress in spiritual growth.

Engage

  • Accept leadership of a missions project that takes place over a defined period of time.
  • Serve with others on a one-half day or full-day project.
  • Grow in your ability to see that building relationships with people while serving as an achievement.
  • Learn how every day can be a missions trip. You’ll live out your faith more intentionally while feeling a sense of accomplishment.
  • Knowing every day starts at zero, serve with others as often as you can. It will fill your bucket.
