Futuristic®
People exceptionally talented in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what could be. They energize others with their visions of the future.
How can I build H.O.P.E.?
Hospitality
- Answer the question, “Who are the people in my community that need to know the love of Jesus?” Help others envision a future that includes them.
- Offer to help envision a different future for the community and its people, especially if resources (people, material, economic, etc.) challenges exist.
- Share the promise of God’s love with people who are far from God.
- Take the time to get to know someone new. They are a reminder of future possibilities.
Offer Christ
- Share your faith story and help people envision a life of following Jesus.
- At baptism, recall the Biblical narrative of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. Make faith commitments central to “what can be” for followers of Jesus. These are not empty promises or visions, but steps toward a future reality that comes with a relationship with Jesus.
Practice
- Choose Scripture, prayer, and worship experiences that invite you to envision the future and how God’s transforming love can change a current reality.
- Pray daily for the future God has entrusted you to shepherd.
- Pray for the people God sends your way to respond to the vision you hold for the future.
- Partner with someone with Focus, Discipline, or Achiever to make the future reality tangible today.
Engage
- Serve with others by sharing your deep vision for tomorrow. It can be a blessing to people in times of transition, trouble, or change.
- Share your vision with others by asking, “What do you want tomorrow to be?” Their capacity to answer may not be the same as your talents. Ask questions, help people living at a crossroads begin to see a new way forward. Be careful not to deny their present reality. Remember, the future ultimately belongs to God.
- Be an encourager. If every future includes the reality that “tomorrow is a new day,” identify ways to encourage others who are facing difficult times.
