How can I build H.O.P.E.?
Hospitality
- Your presence can be captivating to others.
- Shine a light on places that need emotional clarity. You may be a good advocate.
- Your persuasiveness can be utilized to help draw people to Christ.
- As you meet new people, your presence combined with one or more of your other talent themes, can help you create space and craft messages that welcome people into your midst.
Offer Christ
- Explore your own motivations for speaking up and inviting people to follow Jesus.
- You won’t shy away from bringing clarity to the meaning and purpose of baptism and faith.
- Your ability to be direct and forthcoming can create clear paths for people to respond to the gospel message.
- Your take-charge approach can create clear entry points for people new faith and/or this local church.
Practice
- You can lead people to new places in worship, the study of Scripture, and practice of spiritual disciplines.
- Identify the Bible stories that bring faith to life for you.
- Share your faith story. Communicate your testimony.
- Spend time praying. Prayer may help you clarify your communication, motivation, and message.
Engage
- Your clarity will invite people to take risks in serving with others.
- Your ability to lead when others waver can be helpful as you seek to build relationships with people of different socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural traditions.
- You may have the ability to speak plainly to people who find themselves in a situation that is sensitive. Former prisoners, addicts, drug dealers, etc. may welcome your clear communication and persuasive style to persuade them to change.
- Advocate. As you do, become aware of which causes should be embraced and which causes should not be confronted. Your ability to discern will help you be persuasive.
