Self-Assurance
People exceptionally talented in the Self-Assurance theme feel confident in their ability to manage their own lives. They possess an inner compass that gives them confidence that their decisions are right.
How can I build H.O.P.E.?
Hospitality
- Your willingness to take necessary risks can be utilized to meet and welcome new people.
- Your confidence about who you are in God’s eyes will help you see others as God’s children, too. It will also help you bounce back from any disappointing encounter you have with people.
- Show others you are certain God’s invitation includes them. This will help you include them on a journey of disciple-making.
- You may bring a calming presence to new experiences with your sense of stability and certainty.
Offer Christ
- Use your confidence and ability to make decisions to make faith commitments.
- You know it’s up to you to make a commitment to Jesus. Not everyone does. You also know ongoing growth and faithfulness is up to you & Jesus.
- As you seek to help others make faith commitments, you may be inclined toward an individual approach. Be reminded, the body of Christ is a community. Utilize your other talents to be in community.
Practice
- Develop goals and a pattern for your faith development. Ask yourself questions like, “What went well? Why did we do well? What needs improvement?” Relate these questions to worship, teaching, and/or facilitation of age-level ministries.
- At the end of each day, give God thanks for where and/or how you’ve witnessed God’s presence.
- Explore the guiding principles of Biblical leaders. You’ll find insight into other’s point of reference that will help you clarify concepts found in Scripture.
- You likely have the confidence to lead others in worship, study, and prayer. When you encounter a new/unfamiliar challenge, consult with others before making a final decision.
Engage
- Be a decision maker in places of need. Your confidence and conviction can influence action.
- Your stability and certainty can be a calming presence to those in transition, need, and/or trouble.
- Serve with people in places where you have the opportunity to share your beliefs, knowledge, and perhaps where there is no rule book. You’ll gladly make decisions.
