Strategic

People exceptionally talented in the Strategic theme create alternative ways to proceed. Faced with any given scenario, they can quickly spot the relevant patterns and issues.

How can I build H.O.P.E.?

Hospitality

  • Use your ability to find the best route to connect with new people.
  • Use your insight around patterns to identify ways to meet and welcome new people and avoid obstacles. When others assume there is no way to meet new people in today’s context, help them find a way.
  • See, plan, and prepare for future situations to welcome new people.

Offer Christ

  • Use your ability to find the best route to guide you to connect people with Jesus.
  • Be intentional about plans and preparation for baptism. Your clarity will help others move forward and make a commitment. Share this ability with others in compassionate ways.
  • Celebrating baptism and other faith commitments is likely rewarding to you because it is a stopping point on a longer journey.
  • Use your creative, imaginative, persistent self to identify ways followers of Jesus can make faith commitments every time you gather.

Practice

  • Help others find the best way to grow as followers of Jesus. Others may think you’re leaping before looking. Be sure to articulate your process of decision making.
  • Use your talent to spot learning opportunities, chart a growth plan for yourself and others. Use this talent to name current reality, too.
  • Describe to others what you see down the road related to their growth, development, and worship. Your ability to peer around the corner and name the change you see will be a place of entry, perhaps even hospitality, for others.
  • Take time daily to consider your spiritual goals and strategies. Where do you want to be in your walk with Jesus in 3 months? 6 months? one year?
  • Retreats and focused prayer time may be life-giving to you. These practices can also help you find a path forward.

Engage

  • Use your ability to see patterns to guide you to needs in your community as well as serving opportunities.
  • Serve with an organization where you can think and act strategically about the future.
  • Help set-up a process for people to engage in serving with others.
  • Consider what is working well and what others have done before developing plans to improve serving relationships.
  • Develop individual, group, and organizational plans for serving.
