Individualization
People exceptionally talented in the Individualization theme are intrigued with the unique qualities of each person. They have a gift for figuring out how different people can work together productively.
How can I build H.O.P.E.?
Hospitality
- Help welcome people for who they are by seeing the unique traits they bring.
– Tailor your approach to the unique nature of other people so that it is meaningful. For example, if you send a note to someone who was a guest at a ministry, mention something important, unique or memorable about them. You’ll do this naturally.
– Welcome new people seeking to grow in their relationship with Jesus, the church, and the community around you by focusing on the unique qualities of others.
Offer Christ
– Help people articulate the unique nature of their God story.
– Celebrate the gifts you see in others as a way of guiding commitments.
– Mentor new believers. Your curiosity about another person’s unique traits can help them name their talents, desires, and needs.
Practice
– Study different people in Scripture and identify their unique contribution to the faith.
– You may love the breadth and depth of Biblical characters and celebrate their unique qualities and distinguishing traits.
– Study with other people. You’ll learn different ways to pray, teach, and explore Scripture.
– Identify the best approach for your faith development. How do you learn? As you recognize your own uniqueness you’ll be better able to recognize the unique qualities of others.
Engage
– Use your ability to see the unique qualities of others to help teams serve together from their strengths.
– Your ability to see people as individuals is a talent. As a result, you may enjoy counseling, tutoring, and/or mentoring. Each of these areas gives you an opportunity to customize an approach for a person.
– Serve as an “intake/triage” person for a ministry where you can respond to a personal need that is unique. You may get frustrated if there are too many rules to follow if you don’t have another talent that appreciates such clarity.
