Positivity

People especially talented in the Positivity theme have contagious enthusiasm. They are upbeat and can get others excited about what they are going to do.

How can I build H.O.P.E.?

Hospitality

– Your generous praise and quick smile can be a welcoming presence for others.

– You can help people feel excited about what is next because you possess contagious enthusiasm.

– You likely don’t need to plan to welcome people. It is who you are. People feel better about life when you are around.

Offer Christ

– Your light, optimistic, and hopeful outlook can help people say yes to Jesus. You can celebrate the little steps and the large commitments because you see vitality and possibility in it all.

– Praise people for the commitment they are making, the journey they are on, and the transformation they experience. In doing so, you communicate hope – a necessary ingredient of life.

Practice

– Use your ability to encourage and see the good in others to help people focus on what they are doing well.  Your enthusiasm will help people focus on strengths to nurture their soul.

– Share with teachers, leaders, preachers, facilitators what is good. If you like being in front of groups, use your talent to create open, reflective, positive learning environments.

– Spend time daily thanking God for what is good, right, and beautiful. Give thanks for the people who offered you a glimmer of hope.

– When people get discouraged in their progress and/or growth, be a voice of encouragement. Your natural ability to see goodness can help others see things from a different point of view.

– Celebrate the Spirit’s movement in learning. Find ways to communicate the gospel truths that are exciting. You’ll do these things naturally. Take the time to notice what you’re doing.

Engage

– As you serve, be a voice of encouragement and hope. Where others see despair, you likely see goodness. Give voice to the goodness you see as you build relationships with others.

– Be a voice of possibility for someone who is living at a crossroad. You may have the ability to fuel change that leaders, participants, and employees need.

– There is always praise to be shared and your generous gift of gratitude can be a blessing.

– Caution: don’t expect to cheer up negative people. They can often be a drain on your energy.

– Serve with those who need an encouraging word. Use words and actions to be a blessing to others and remind them they are loved by God.
