How can I build H.O.P.E.?

Hospitality

  • You see things that others do not. Help others think through how to meet new people.
  • Create time to get to know people who live and work near you.
  • Prayerfully consider how you can be a welcoming presence for others.
  • Consider what moments or reminders will be most meaningful to reconnect with new guests.

Offer Christ

  • You will likely make faith commitments after serious consideration.
  • Use the great care you offer to walk with new believers and help them claim the faith they have professed to others.
  • Identify people you can partner with to lead others toward making faith commitments. Consider people who are strong in Command, Self-Assurance, and/or Activator.
  • Reflect on the meaning of baptism with others. Explore the obstacles that may be in the way for others to say yes to Jesus.

Practice

  • Deepen relationships with people you trust. Identify ways to pray together, build accountability, and challenge each other.
  • Make a commitment to a group and stick with it. Over time, you will develop the trust and confidence of others that can sustain you.
  • Identify competent people to grow with you.
  • Help others pause to consider all the options at their disposal.
  • Commit a Scripture to memory. Use it as a way to prayerfully consider where God is leading you.
  • Arrive early to worship and/or Bible Study. Pray for the people who God is sending your way.

Engage

  • Identify opportunities for your small group to serve. Your careful choices and discerning Spirit can help your group make great connections. Explain to others how you made this decision and give them a realistic timeline for action.
  • Explore serving with an organization that connects with your interests.
  • Help others reflect on their serving experiences.
