Significance
People exceptionally talented in the Significance theme want to be very important in others’ eyes. They are independent and want to be recognized.
How can I build H.O.P.E.?
Hospitality
– You could be known as the welcoming guru to your home group, neighborhood and/or local church. But, what is it you want to be known for? What is it you want to be recognized for? Start there and determine your next steps.
– Take on the challenge of meeting new people because it will give you an opportunity to make a first impression, to make a difference, to be remembered as the one who first reached out.
– How will reaching new people help you make a difference?
Offer Christ
– What do you want your legacy to be? How will your faith commitments help you get there? How can you help people encounter the love of God we know in Jesus?
– Celebrate baptism as the difference-maker moment it is. Celebrate the joy of a life-changed.
– Find opportunities where your faith commitments help you stand out – you desire to excel and be surrounded by the best.
– God moves mountains. We get to participate. Celebrate the commitment to participating in God’s yes to the world.
Practice
– What benchmarks demonstrate excellence and progress for you in the life of faith?
– You’ll likely appreciate independent approaches to prayer and Bible Study.
– Be sure to center your desires on God – even those desires to be the best. Help others understand your motivations.
– Explore biographies of Spiritual giants and difference makers. Learn from their growing edges.
– Contribute to ministries that connect you to movements, not simple events. Your desire for exceptional results will be fueled by seeing the exponential impact any movement.
– Seek opportunities to teach and lead others, especially in places where your desire to make a difference is matched by the need.
Engage
– You want to make a difference. You want to be a difference-maker. Ask yourself, “What cause captures my heart?” (e.g., widows, orphans, foster care children, disease, famine, war, natural disasters, etc.)
– You won’t be satisfied with something small. Serve so as to make an impact.
– Connect people to the greatest difference maker you know – Jesus.
– Serve with the opportunity to help others escape the bounds of mediocrity. First by knowing yourself and what you need and second by receiving affirmation and feedback from others.
