Developer®

People exceptionally talented in the Developer theme recognize and cultivate the potential in others. They spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from evidence of progress.

How can I build H.O.P.E.?

Hospitality

  • You see potential in every person. Use this perspective to welcome people into your life. Claim the potential you see as an opportunity to welcome another human being into meaningful relationships with God, a Christian community, or the local context.
  • You may be a wonderful guide for people seeking to understand how they can grow in their faith. This comes through relationships. Reflect on friends, relatives, neighbors, and acquaintances who do not have a relationship with Christ. What is the hidden potential you see in them?
  • Call, text, email first-time guests as an act of encouragement.

Offer Christ

  • You are an encourager. You spot signs of improvement and find satisfaction from naming the growth you see- no matter how big or small. Small steps are a chance for big celebrations.
  • Find ways to show others you see growth. Help them take the next step in their faith journey.
  • It is likely baptism will be an experience you cherish. It is both a milestone and a celebration. What role might you take in nurturing a child, teen, or adult following their baptism?

Practice

  • You may enjoy teaching a class of children or youth or serving as a mentor for new believers
  • Consider your own spiritual development and growth. Set goals so you can celebrate your spiritual growth.
  • You are fueled by seeing others grow. Participate in a small group. Be an eye for spotting the potential of others. Over time people will recognize your genuine care.
  • Send a note of thanks to someone who has invested in your development.
  • As appropriate, acknowledge the work of your pastor. S/he will never receive enough encouragement!

Engage

  • Your eye and heart for potential can be a gift to people living in poverty, recovering from substance abuse, a health scare, and/or homelessness. Find a way to develop ongoing relationships with someone who needs a reminder of the steps they’ve taken toward healing, health, and/or wholeness.
  • Spot signs of growth – glimpses of goodness – they are clear signs potential is being realized.
  • You may do well partnering with someone who has high Individualization to spot people’s greatest strengths.
