Focus

People exceptionally talented in the Focus theme can take a direction, follow through, and make the corrections necessary to stay on track. They prioritize, then act.

How can I build H.O.P.E.?

Hospitality

  • First, identify your goals for the month, quarter or year.  The information that follows will only be helpful to you if aligned with your goals.
  • Help others see the importance of meeting new people.  Accept a challenge to set a goal for meeting, welcoming, and connecting new people into a Christian community.
  • Follow up with first-time guest
  • Focus on identifying new people participating in a ministry.
  • Communicate your goals to others so they understand your focus
  • Partner with Woo to keep moving and meeting new people
  • Take responsibility for summarizing next steps for new guests

Offer Christ

  • You’ll likely take any faith commitment seriously because it indicates where you are heading.
  • Given your clarity to make commitments, participate in setting goals for a small group, ministry, and/or congregation. Write down goals and timelines for others.
  • Prioritize your life responsibilities so faith commitments are a part of your target/priorities.
  • Help new believers understand their gifts then connect them with new believers.

Practice

  • Pray at the same time every day.
  • Develop a quiet time routine to focus on thankfulness and God’s presence.
  • Identify daily ways to read Scripture, engage in prayer.
  • Assist in serving Holy Communion. Give special attention to each person who is served.
  • Read through a book (or books) of the Bible in a designated period of time.
  • Set personal faith goals. You’ll likely thrive because you identified specific actions for focus.

Engage

  • Once you identify a place of passion and service, set monthly or annual goals to serve.
  • Guided by an innate sense of forward movement, be reminded that not everyone shares your ability to focus. With this in mind, choose to serve in places where you have the opportunity to sort through the chaos and are not invited to respond to it.
  • Serve with children. They can help you stay centered on simple, focused tasks.
