Ideation

People exceptionally talented in the Ideation theme are fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena.

How can I build H.O.P.E.?

Hospitality

– Participate in the early stages of planning to help brainstorm approaches to meet and welcome new people.

– When you meet someone new, use your talent to ask questions that get at the person’s interests, story, etc. from different angles.

– Different ideas and approaches excite you. Be available to share ideas about how to meet new people, welcome new people, and begin building relationships.

Offer Christ

– Help someone reflect/brainstorm how they’ll seek to follow Jesus as a baptized believer.

– Participate in a team seeking to be intentional about faith commitments.

– Think, challenge, and participate in helping others connect a moment or part of their faith story to a biblical truth. This can help draw connections and invite commitments.

– Offer to share ideas to help people make, keep, and develop their faith commitments. If there is a special age group you enjoy, use your talents with them.

Practice

– Participate in a discussion based Bible Study. You can bring a host of ideas together into one coherent thought. Don’t allow your ideas to distract from the discussion at hand.

– Become knowledgeable about the whole Biblical story. Help other people connect their story to God’s story.

– Create a list of biblical themes, current issues, and/or topics you’d like to learn about. Use this list to guide your development as a person of faith.

– Schedule time to read Scripture, pray, and worship. When you encounter ideas from Scripture, use the concepts as a launching point for more ideas.

Engage

– Serve as a catalyst to generate ideas for serving with others in your community.

– Use your idea-generating abilities to help others take action toward achieving their purpose.

– You’ll likely never see a challenge that doesn’t have multiple options. Use your fresh perspective to help others identify a path forward in the challenge they currently face (food, shelter, money, clothing, relationships, illness, etc.)

– Partner with someone with Focus to stay on track. Partner with someone with Strategic to help move ideas toward a purpose or goal. Together, you’ll create a better future.
